Monday...

Monday is a big day for me. The biggest day in my entire college career actually. I am defending my thesis on Monday. Graduate school and my thesis has been such a big part of my life and now it is just about over. Here is a photo of all the people who have been a huge influence in my life for the past year.

Love you guys!!!

So I am nervous about the defense, but I am praying that all goes well. It is critical that it goes well. Pray for me!

I finally know what is going on!

Okay, so I need to share some history first, then I will state the problem.

For the past couple of months I have not been feeling well in regards to my stomach. I have felt like I have had food poisoning 3 times (can’t hold food down), get nauseous in the mornings and evenings, have pain in my stomach, etc….

This past Sat night I had the whole “food poisoning” thing happen again after eating out with friends and I could hardly even stand up I was so sick. I decided that I was done with this and went to the doctor today.

Turns out that I have a serotonin deficiency, which is hereditary, and which causes migraines (which I get) as well as irritable bowl syndrome (which I now have). In addition, I have a pre-ulcer condition, gastritis, as well as a small beginning ulcer. So basically, my stomach and intestines is this mass of open sores in my body.  Fun, fun!

So I am officially on 3 different meds, and a “white diet” (bread, rice, water, mash potatoes, etc) for the rest of the week. If there is no real improvement by then, they want to take a CAT scan to see if there are other problems. Hopefully this cocktail and  diet works!

I love this time of year!!!

I tell people all the time that this is my favorite time of year. From September to December I am in heaven. All the holidays, the weather (I love fall and then the snow that follows), the short semester that tends to fly by, family getting together, food and fun! LOVE IT!

Bryan and I are going to Memphis for Christmas, my home sweet home!!! I am so excited. This Thanksgiving we are going to Bryan's sister's home to spend with his family and then Christmas will be spent with mine.

This is kind of how I feel, got to admit. It will be great though, especially since my thesis defense will be all done by then. :)

Christmas is my favorite holiday EVER! The food, the family, the weather, the presents, the giving, the music and decorations. Love it!

I know it is a while from now, but I am just super excited. I am almost counting down the weeks/days. :)

These are the best days of our lives!

I am finished! Actually finished. Not even playing or kidding. I have officially finished my thesis. I have sent it to my committee, I have scheduled the room, date and time for the defense,  and I am in the process of filling out the paperwork to send to the School of Graduate Studies today. Yippee!!! I am going to go work out tonight to release all this pent up energy and stress that I have because of this thesis.

My defense is scheduled for Nov 23rd. I am crossing my fingers that there will be no more problems!

Epiphanies

I am not much of a brain when it comes to getting awesome ideas for things. It takes me a very long time and is usually a very painful and stressful process which leaves me in tears.

However, I had an epiphany….about my thesis….and it is just what I needed.  I may actually make my deadline now after all. :) YEY!

The light at the end of the tunnel

I can see it…I can. As crazy as it sounds, I am just trying to claw my way to the finish line. I am so close I can almost taste it.  wow….time sure does have a way of dragging by when you want it to hurry.

Needs a vote

Today something really interesting happened. I was told that someone didn't understand the phrase "crazy as a loon".... Am I just the weirdo who DOES know what this means and uses it regularly? I need a vote! How many of you know what this means, has heard it before, and/or uses it regularly?
